Fund Raising Campaign
As we approach the midpoint of this year, your Phi Lambda Charitable Trust (PLCT) is reaching out in this fund raising effort by urging you to contribute financially in support of our benevolent endeavors. Over the years PLCT has undertaken numerous domestic, regional and international projects, all of which have greatly impacted and enhanced the lives of thousands of people of Chinese descent both here and abroad.
Our fundraising efforts, which were approved by your PLCT Board of Trustees, are in full swing at this time and are focused specifically on two areas:
The College Scholarship Program (via Grace Charity)
Supports 10 highly qualified but financially disadvantaged students, who would otherwise be denied a college education.
- Candidates are selected from poverty stricken areas of Cenxi, Guangxi and Guizhou, China.
- A 4 year PLCT scholarship commitment is given to each carefully screened, highly qualified, and vigilantly followed-up student. The yearly award per student is $1,300 which covers all expenses including room and board, books, food, and other living expenses.
- THE GOOD NEWS is that we have already received commitments for four students’ fully funded 4-year scholarships and are looking to fund six additional students at a total four year cost of $5200 per student.
Computer Lab for Longting Tronex Shin Shin School
- This school was constructed in 2010 in Hanzhong, Shaanxi, under the spon sorship of PLUS Charitable Trust.
- Due to lack of resources, there is absolutely no computer education offered to its student body of approximately 700 students.
- Our project proposal is to equip this school with a 30 Student PC Lab for a total cost of $13,500 and in appreciation for the project, a plaque with the donor’s name will be mounted outside the lab.
- THE GOOD NEWS is a 50% pledge ($6,750) has already been received but we are seeking matching funds so that this urgently needed project will become reality.
