Helping abandoned children born with the birth defect of a cleft palate was the original medical purpose when the Anhui Healing Home, operating under the auspices of LWB, opened its doors in 2008. Realizing that these children often fail to thrive due to inability to feed properly, this home helped children gain back strength so they could undergo surgery and then facilitated their recovery after their operations. Eventually medical services at this home were expanded to accept babies with all types of medical needs. Because of the support of a nurturing environment, receiving high quality formula and having excellent medical and post-operative care, the babies are given the best chance at health, healing and upon recovery, joining an adoptive family.
Founded in 1980, the Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) is dedicated to preserving and presenting the history, heritage, culture and diverse experiences of people of Chinese descent in the United States. It is a national home for the precious narratives of diverse Chinese American communities, and strives to be a model among interactive museums. Recognizing that PLCT’s own vision found absolute expression in MOCA, we have made significant contributions to this outstanding museum, helping it to continue its mission of bringing to life the multiple journeys, memories and contributions of the past and present of our Chinese American legacy.

PLCT is providing full 4-year university scholarships to each of 10 students coming from the economically disadvantaged regions of Guangxi and Guizhou. These students’ areas of advanced study cover a broad range of concentration and the universities of their choice are dispersed throughout greater China.
Members of PLCT and PLUS, with the guidance of Grace Charity, have personally met and selected all of these students, have been to several of their schools, and have met with some of their families. Visits have been rewarding and heartwarming experiences and plans are now underway to establish a one-on-one mentoring relationship with each student and to build personal connections with them via correspondence and visits.
The College Scholarship Program (via Grace Charity)
Supports 10 highly qualified but financially disadvantaged students, who would otherwise be denied a college education.
For the past 15 years, in collaboration with Shin Shin, we have built and remodeled 11 schools located in some of the most remote areas of China. On an ongoing basis, we provide funding for an array of resources (educational and technological) to these disadvantaged schools and as result, approximately 5000 students are now reaping the benefit of education.
