The PLUS Charitable Trust works with local partners to finance the construction of new schools, and also supports various mentoring programs and orphanages.
STUDENT MENTORING
The PLUS Charitable Trust has consistently strived to improve education among people of Chinese descent, and to promote arts related to Chinese culture. Accordingly, the trust has provided financial support to various education programs, including a business mentoring project at Princeton University in 2012.
CONSTRUCTION OF NEW SCHOOLS
Throughout rural China, hundreds of thousands of children have dropped out of school due to poverty and poor living conditions. Furthermore, many educational facilities have been so inadequately constructed that they represent a serious hazard for both students and teachers, thus hindering their ability to focus on a quality education.
In 2004, the PLUS Charitable Trust began its school construction program, with the goal of promoting education in rural parts of China. Between independent projects and partnerships with the Shin-Shin Foundation of California, the organization has sponsored or built ten schools to date, which accommodate thousands of primary school children.
